Sunrise refractory corundum brick is an aluminum-silicon refractory product with corundum as the main phase. Corundum brick has excellent high temperature mechanical properties, good corrosion resistance and wear resistance. The raw materials are natural hydrated aluminum oxides such as gibbsite, gibbsite, etc., and these hydrates are dehydrated by heating to obtain alumina (γ-Al2O3). It is then converted to corundum (α-Al2O3) by heating to 1450 °C. Natural corundum and natural pure boehmite have very little reserves in nature. Therefore, industrial alumina is used as a raw material for the production of corundum. The industrial alumina produced is mainly α-Al 2 O 3 . When the γ-Al2O3 is converted into α-Al2O3, the volume shrinkage is 13%. In order to make the α-Al2O3 grains develop well, the raw materials need to be treated at a higher temperature. After high temperature burning, the α-Al2O3 grains can grow 25 to 40 times.

Corundum brick has good chemical stability and strong resistance to acidic or alkaline slag, metal and glass. The thermal shock stability is related to its structure, and the corrosion resistance of the compact product is good, but the thermal shock stability is poor. Divided into sintered corundum brick and fused corundum brick. Sintered alumina and fused corundum can be used as raw materials or alumina clinker with high Al2O3/SiO2 ratio and sintered alumina can be prepared by sintering method. Phosphorus or other binders can also be used to make unburned corundum bricks. Mainly used in ironmaking blast furnace and blast furnace hot blast stove, steelmaking furnace outside refining furnace, sliding water, glass melting furnace and petrochemical industrial furnace.

The cast-cast corundum brick is obtained by melting industrial alumina and a small amount of soda ash and quartz powder in an electric arc furnace, followed by casting, annealing and the like, and then mechanically processing into a desired shape and size.
The fused corundum re-sintered brick is made of pulverized fused corundum granules and fine powder, added with a small amount of clay and a binder, and after thorough kneading, it is formed by a brick press. The brick density is 2.75 to 2.85 g/cm3. After the brick is dried, it is fired at 1700 to 1800 °C.
